How is Slide powered?

Currently, Slide needs to be connect to an electricity outlet. When you receive Slide, we’ll make sure that the package contains everything you need, including a AC adapter with a plug for your region. The cord of the adapter will be 2.5m long but we will add an extra extension cord of 3m if your socket is further away. At the moment, we are examining possibilities for battery placement and solar power. We will keep you posted! Last updated: Sat, Dec 10 2016 9:10 am EST

Is the thread changeable if broken?

The polyethylene wire is unlikely to break because it has a lifting capacity of 22KG. However, in the very unlikely case it does break, the thread is changeable. Last updated: Sat, Dec 10 2016 12:43 pm EST

What wireless protocol does Slide use?

As for now, we have chosen WiFi as our wireless protocol because it allows users to connect Slide to the internet, e.g. to use cloud services such as IFTTT, without the need for an external hub. However, we are looking into adding Z-Wave/Zigbee as an optional upgrade to Slide in the coming weeks. How many Slides do I need for one window?

One Slide supports two horizontal curtains, but if the curtains are uneven in length or not symmetrical (not closing in the middle) you need a separate Slide for each curtain. Last updated: Sat, Dec 10 2016 9:10 am EST

Does Slide also work on a curtain that opens and closes on one side?

Yes Last updated: Sat, Dec 10 2016 9:10 am EST

What is the max. size and weight of the curtains?

One Slide is equipped to pull up a weight of 22 KG, which means that horizontal moving curtains can be even heavier. The curtains can be of every height, but the maximal tested width of the curtains is 6 meters. However, if there is much demand for a broader width, we are more than willing to examine the possibilities. Last updated: Sat, Dec 10 2016 9:10 am EST

Can I use Slide when my curtains rails are curved or have a corner?

Generally, Slide does not work on curved curtain tracks. However, if it’s an easy curve we recommend you to send us a picture so that we can determine if Slide will work on your specific curtains rail. You can always set up Slide for the straight part of your rails, excluding the curved part at the end. Do note that in this case your curtains will not be able to still reach the curved/cornered part of your curtains. Last updated: Sat, Dec 10 2016 9:10 am EST

Does Slide work on curtain rod with a ring system?

Does Slide work on telescopic curtain rails?

Yes, Slide also works on a telescopic curtain rails. Last updated: Sat, Dec 10 2016 9:10 am EST

Can the curtains be opened and closed by hand?

Slide has an automatic roll-in-roll-out mechanism for the wire. The spools run freely and they are automatically tensioned by a constant-torque spring. The polyethylene cable will retract when the curtains are opened and closed. Maybe it is also good to know that Slide works on rotations rather than with a pre-set duration. Hence, Slide is able to determine the exact location of the curtain, even if it’s operated manually. Last updated: Sat, Dec 10 2016 9:10 am EST

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
